Language Course – Leibniz University Hannover

Before the start of the semester (generally in March and September), the Leibniz Language Centre (LLC) offers a four-week language course for international students of the exchange programmes of Leibniz Universität Hannover.

There is always a minimum number of applicants required for each course of the different German levels, just as there is a maximum number of applicants for each course!

Course Levels
Elementary courses provide participants with sufficient language skills to interact in everyday situations and at university.
Beginners A1 (students with little or no prior knowledge of German)
Elementary level A2 (language requirements: at least 100 hours of German classes)

Intermediate courses prepare participants for their studies in Hannover, give international students an understanding of German culture on an intermediate or advanced level, and provide general information on Hannover.

Intermediate level B1 (language requirements: at least level A2 GER, 200-400 hours of German classes)
Upper-Intermediate level B2 or higher (language requirements: at least level B1 GER, more than 600 hours of German classes)
Course Details

4 weeks, 20 teaching units per week, 45 minutes per unit, Monday-Friday from approx. 9.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

Students who attend the course regularly and complete the assessments successfully will attain 4 ECTS points.

This course is subject to a fee (course fee: 360 euros). A small social programme is included in the course fee.

This course primarily addresses exchange students. Please do not register unless you have definitely been accepted as an exchange student at Leibniz University Hannover, NOT BEFORE, PLEASE.
