INTENSIVE GERMAN COURSES FOR EXCHANGE STUDENTS (ERASMUS AND OTHER EXCHANGE PROGRAMMES)

Before the start of the semester (generally in March and September), the Leibniz Language Centre (LLC) at Leibniz University Hannover offers a four-week language course for international ERASMUS students and students in other exchange programmes.

The course fee is 350 euros.

UPCOMING COURSES

Next course will take place from 6th to 30th September, 2021, starting likely as an online class and switching into a face-to-face one, all depending on the current situation in terms of the Corona pandemy in September 2021. As well as the way in which the course can be held, there is still an uncertainty regarding the total number of participants who will be allowed to sign up and to join.

COURSE LEVELS

  • Beginners A1 (students with little or no prior knowledge of German)
  • Elementary level A2 (language requirements: at least 100 hours of German classes)

(Elementary courses provide participants with sufficient language skills to interact in everyday situations and at university.

  • Intermediate level B1 (language requirements: at least level A2 GER, 200-400 hours of German classes)
  • Upper-Intermediate level B2 or higher (language requirements: at least level B1 GER, more than 600 hours of German classes)

(Intermediate courses prepare participants for their studies in Hannover, give international students an understanding of German culture on an intermediate or advanced level, and provide general information on Hannover).

Note: There is always a minimum number of applicants required for each course running on different German language levels (see above).

COURSE DETAILS

80 teaching units, 45 minutes per unit (4 weeks, 20 teaching units per week), Monday-Friday from approx. 9.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

Students who attend the course regularly and complete the assessments successfully will attain 4 ECTS points.

This course is subject to a fee. A small social programme is included in the course fee.

This course primarily addresses exchange students. Please do not register unless you have definitely been accepted as an exchange student at Leibniz University Hannover.
